Changing your name

You can request a name change from your account settings. Because your name appears on your profile and in messages to other users, a name change is reviewed by SeyCareers before it takes effect - see How Review Works in the Help Centre. Your current name continues to display until the change is approved.

Changing your email address

You can change the email address linked to your account at any time from your account settings. This change takes effect immediately and a confirmation is sent to both your old and new email address for security.

Password changes

You can change your password at any time from your account settings by confirming your current password and choosing a new one.

Email verification

After registering, you'll be asked to verify your email address to help keep your account secure.

Two-factor authentication

SeyCareers supports two-factor authentication for extra account security. You can enable it from your account settings by scanning a QR code with an authenticator app and confirming with a one-time code. It can be turned off at any time by re-entering your password.

Active sessions

The Active Sessions page show every device or browser currently signed in to your account. If you don't recognise one, you can sign out of all other sessions from the same page, keeping only your current one active.

Login activity

You can review a history of recent logins to your account from your account settings. This is useful for confirming that only you have been accessing your account.

Deactivating your account

You can temporarily deactivate your own account from your account settings. This is different from an account being suspended by SeyCareers (see below) as a self-deactivation is entirely your own choice and simply logging back in reactivates your account automatically. No separate "reactivate" step is needed.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account from your account settings. Unlike deactivating, this can't be undone by logging back in as you'd need to register again as a new account.

Account suspension

Separately from deactivating your own account, SeyCareers can suspend an account that breaches our Terms & Conditions or Acceptable Use Policy. This is an administrative action taken by SeyCareers, not something you trigger yourself, and isn't reversed simply by logging in again.

General account security

Keep your login details confidential and avoid reusing your SeyCareers password elsewhere. If you notice any unusual activity on your account, change your password immediately and contact us.
