This Privacy Policy explains how SeyCareers collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you use our platform, whether as a jobseeker, an employer or a visitor.

By creating an account or otherwise using SeyCareers, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. It should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions.

Information We Collect

We collect information in three general ways: information you provide directly to us, information generated through your use of the platform and information created when your account interacts with other users.

Information You Provide

Depending on how you use SeyCareers, you may provide us with:

• account details such as your name, email address and password
• jobseeker profile information, including work experience, education, qualifications and skills
• a profile photograph, where uploaded
• CVs, whether uploaded directly or generated from your profile information
• cover letters submitted with job applications
• company information, for employer accounts, including company name, description and logo
• messages exchanged with other users through the platform's messaging feature
• payment details you submit for a subscription, such as the date and reference of your bank transfer and any receipt you upload
• any other information you choose to submit when applying for roles or contacting us.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use SeyCareers, certain information is collected automatically, including your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and general usage patterns. This information helps us operate the platform reliably and understand how it is used.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• create and manage your account
• display jobseeker profiles, CVs and company profiles to relevant users
• process job applications and facilitate communication between jobseekers and employers
• review and moderate submitted profile information, CVs and company details
• send account, application and messaging notifications by email
• manage subscriptions and related employer features
• verify accounts and maintain the security of the platform
• respond to enquiries and provide customer support
• maintain, secure and improve the platform.

Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, we rely on the performance of our agreement with you when providing platform services, our legitimate interest in operating and improving SeyCareers, your consent where it has been given and compliance with legal obligations that apply to us.

Profile Visibility and Public Information

Once your jobseeker account is approved and active, your Professional Portfolio is publicly accessible on the platform, including to visitors who are not signed in. Information displayed on your Professional Portfolio may also be indexed by search engines and appear in search results. A more detailed Full Profile is made available separately, only to employers using the platform and is not publicly accessible. Company profiles created by employers are visible to jobseekers and other visitors as part of the platform's job postings.

Profile information and other submitted content may be subject to a review process before becoming publicly visible, as described in our Terms & Conditions.

CVs, Cover Letters and Applications

CVs may be uploaded directly by a jobseeker or generated automatically from information held in their profile. Cover letters may be written for a specific job application. Both are stored on the platform and are shared with an employer when you submit an application for one of their job posts.

You remain responsible for the accuracy and content of any CV or cover letter you submit.

Employer Access to Information

Employers may access jobseeker information that is made visible through the platform or submitted directly to them as part of a job application, such as profile details, CVs and cover letters.

Employers are responsible for their use of jobseeker information made available to them through the platform and must process such information in accordance with applicable law, our Terms & Conditions and any other obligations applicable to them. SeyCareers may take appropriate action where it becomes aware of misuse through the platform.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

SeyCareers uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and support core platform functionality. Further detail is available in our Cookie Policy.

Analytics and Platform Performance

We may collect aggregated and, where appropriate, anonymised usage information to help us understand how the platform is performing and where it can be improved. This information is used for internal reporting purposes and is not used to identify individual users.

Communications and Notifications

We send email notifications relating to your account, such as email verification, password resets, application updates, messages from other users and the status of submitted profile information or job posts.

These notifications are part of the core service and cannot be disabled entirely.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with other users of the platform where necessary to provide the service, such as sharing a jobseeker's application with the relevant employer and with service providers who support our operation of the platform, as described below.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of SeyCareers, our users or others.

We may engage third-party providers to support functions such as hosting and email delivery. These providers are only given access to the information necessary to perform their function and are expected to handle it responsibly.

International Data Transfers

Where a service provider we rely on is located outside the Republic of Seychelles, your information may be processed in that location. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure it continues to be handled in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active, or as needed, to provide the platform's services to you. We may retain certain information for a further period where required for legitimate business, legal or record-keeping purposes.

Your Rights

You may access and update most of your personal information directly from your account. You may also request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the details below, subject to any information we are required to retain for legal or legitimate business purposes.

Account Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information held on the platform, including account verification and optional two-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure and you also play a role in protecting your account by keeping your login credentials confidential.

Children's Privacy

SeyCareers is intended for use by individuals who meet the minimum age requirement set out in our Terms & Conditions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children and any such information identified will be removed.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the platform or applicable requirements. Continued use of SeyCareers following any such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
