Understand Your Job Match Score

Last Updated: September 2026

What the match score means

Signed in as a jobseeker, SeyCareers shows a match score as a percentage on job listings and on your applications, based on how well a role fits your profile.

What it's based on

The score is calculated from up to six criteria, each contributing to the overall percentage: your preferred industries against the job's industry, your preferred employment types against the job's employment type, your highest qualification against the job's minimum education requirement, your preferred work location against the job's location, your nationality against the job's nationality eligibility and, where both you and the job have salary information, your salary expectation against the job's salary range.

If salary information isn't available on either side, that criterion is simply left out of the calculation rather than counted against you.

Where you'll see it

Your match score appears on job listings, on a job's own detail page and on each of your applications, so you can see at a glance how well a role suits you before and after you apply.
