Understand the Offer Process

Last Updated: September 2026

Receiving an offer

If an employer decides to offer you a role, you'll see it on the application, sometimes with an offer letter and a message from the employer.

Accepting or declining

You can accept or decline an offer directly from your application. If you decline, you'll be asked to give a reason, which is shared with the employer.

Declining an offer closes that offer, but it does not automatically mean your application has been closed. The employer may send another offer or continue with another outcome for your application.

Offer expiry

Every offer has a validity period set by the employer. If you don't accept or decline the offer before it expires, the offer can no longer be accepted or declined.

An expired offer does not automatically mean your application has been closed. The employer may send another offer or continue with another outcome for your application.

If the employer moves your application forward

An employer may decide to hire you or mark your application as Not Selected while an offer is pending. If this happens, the pending offer is automatically closed and you no longer need to respond to it.
